Sailing outings for primary schools
A day or half-day of sailing in Optimist dinghies for students from the surrounding communities.
Are you a teacher or headteacher of a primary school in the towns surrounding Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat? The CVM Nautical Center welcomes your classes for half-day or full-day Optimist sailing outings. Marine environment awareness, independence, cooperation: a comprehensive educational program led by our state-certified instructors. We welcome classes from schools in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Èze, and other nearby towns. Preferential rates available upon request. Quotes will be sent within 48 hours of contact.
Beyond sailing, our outings are part of an educational approach: observing marine biodiversity, raising awareness of coastal preservation (Cap Ferrat is partially classified as a Natura 2000 site), and learning cooperation and independence. Educational materials are provided to teachers.

Our educational program
Each session follows a proven structure: welcome and safety briefing (15 min), presentation of equipment and marine environment (15 min), navigation on Optimist supervised by state-certified instructors (1 hour)), return to shore and debriefing (15 min).
For schools that want a complete cycle, we offer a framework of 10 to 20 sessions with a structured progression: discovery, introduction, initial autonomy, environmental awareness. We work collaboratively with the teacher to adapt it to your classroom project.

Appropriate equipment and supervision
All equipment is provided and adapted to children's sizes: Optimist dinghies (the standard boat for learning), appropriately sized life jackets, and wetsuits if the season requires them. Sessions are led by state-certified instructors. Teachers accompany their class throughout the activity.
